This beautiful mouse is a Queen for the Wee Forest Folk Egyptian Chess Set created in 2004 and accented with a special amethyst headdress and sash. Her throne is silver and intricately carved with claw feet and avian wings that wrap around the arms of the throne. The base is carved with Wee Forest Folk's version of ancient Egyptian hieroglyphic symbols. Stunning! A beautiful gift for a chess enthusiast, or a statement piece placed under a tiny glass cloche if your budget doesn't allow for the complete Wee Forest Folk chess set. Cute in a miniature Halloween display. Comes in a Wee Forest Folk box for gifting and storage. Sculpted and initialed by Willy Petersen. Approximate dimensions: 2.5" (h) x 1" (w).
Production: 2004. This special color variation released in 2006. Each piece includes the production date carved on the bottom of the base along with the artist's initials and a gold Tutmouse's Egyptian Chess Set sticker.

The Petersen Family have been crafting Wee Forest Folk exquisite miniatures since 1972 right here in the USA. A Wee Forest Folk figurine begins as an original clay piece which is hand sculpted by one of three sculptors in the Petersen family. The finished sculpture is molded and hand cast at the "mouse factory" in Carlisle, MA. Carefully selected artists flawlessly paint each one by hand bringing to life a sweet little mouse personality.
