Wee Forest Folk Miniatures M-112 - First Day of School
This vintage Wee Forest Folk figurine from the 1980's shows a mother mouse leading her hesitant little boy mouse through the schoolyard on the first day of school. She's carrying his lunch box (full of nuts and cheese, no doubt), and he's clinging to her apron. He's such a shy little mouse, but we know he'll make friends fast. This precious figurine is sure to bring back memories! This piece is in beautiful condition and is a good example of Annette's early work. A wonderful way for a serious collector to add depth to their collection, or a new collector to start at the beginning. Approximate dimensions: 1.25" x 1.25". Sculpted by Annette Petersen. Retired in 1985.
Note: The wooden block schoolhouse in the background is not included, but is available for sale separately. It is double sided with a winter schoolhouse scene on the back. These two pieces are adorable together. Inquire to express interest.

The Petersen Family have been crafting Wee Forest Folk exquisite miniatures since 1972 right here in the USA. A Wee Forest Folk figurine begins as an original clay piece which is hand sculpted by one of three sculptors in the Petersen family. The finished sculpture is molded and hand cast at the "mouse factory" in Carlisle, MA. Carefully selected artists flawlessly paint each one by hand bringing to life a sweet little mouse personality.
