Wee Forest Folk Meadow Muses MU-5 - Can-Can Mouse a la Toulouse-Lautrec

The fifth of seven pieces in the Wee Forest Folk Meadow Muses series, Can-Can Mouse a la Toulouse-Lautrec was inspired by artist Toulouse-Lautrec's paintings depicting the Moulin Rouge cabaret in Paris. This adorable little mouse is wearing a traditional costume in red with a multi-layered skirt having plenty of ruffles and frills. White knickers, black stockings, and ankle boots complete the costume. She's quite a spectacle and an expert at high kicking! We hope she doesn't step on her tail! Sculpted by Willy Petersen, this piece will be appreciated by lovers of fine art, Toulouse-Lautrec, can-can dancing, the cabaret, miniatures, and of course, collectors of Wee Forest Folk figurines. The Petersen Family have been crafting Wee Forest Folk exquisite miniatures since 1972 right here in the USA. A Wee Forest Folk figurine begins as an original clay piece which is hand sculpted by one of three sculptors in the Petersen family. The finished sculpture is molded and hand cast at the "mouse factory" in Carlisle, MA. Carefully selected artists flawlessly paint each one by hand bringing to life a sweet little mouse personality.
