Wee Forest Folk Limited Edition MS-15cc - Batter-up! (Chicago Cubs)

Batter up little mouse! This miniature limited edition figurine commemorates the Chicago Cubs World Series win in 2016, which ended the 108-year "curse of the Billy Goat". The 2016 win marked only the third World Series championship win in Chicago Cub franchise history, preceded by back-to-back wins in 1907 and 1908. This figurine, placed under a tiny glass cloche (not included), would be a nice surprise for any Chicago Cub fan, young or old. This miniature figurine is in excellent condition and comes in a Wee Forest Folk box for gifting and storage. Batter-up was originally sculpted by Annette Petersen, but the initials on the bottom of this figurine appear to be those of Willy Petersen. Approximate dimensions: 1.75" (h) x 1.0" (w).

The Petersen Family have been crafting Wee Forest Folk exquisite miniatures since 1972 right here in the USA. A Wee Forest Folk figurine begins as an original clay piece which is hand sculpted by one of three sculptors in the Petersen family. The finished sculpture is molded and hand cast at the "mouse factory" in Carlisle, MA. Carefully selected artists flawlessly paint each one by hand bringing to life a sweet little mouse personality.
