Inspired by the original illustrations of Cicely Mary Barker, this handcrafted doll is from the Flower Fairies of the Summer. The Heather Fairy is constructed of the finest all-wool felt. She measures 8-1/2 inches tall and is fully jointed at the shoulders, hips and neck with new ball and socket jointing system. This charming little elf has delicately hand painted features, pointy fairy ears, and a meticulously hand-knotted wig of the finest imported mohair. The Heather Fairy has a sculptural molded felt body and limbs and his tiny baby hands are sewn with individual fingers. His iridescent fairy wings are sewn, molded and hand painted out of fine silk organza.
The Heather Fairy is costumed in a 2-piece outfit consisting of a sleeveless shirt and billowy, gathered shorts. The costume is made out of soft cotton gauze fabric which has been delicately hand colored. This Summer Flower Fairy comes holding a detailed realistic branch of heather made entirely out of felt.
The Heather Fairy was produced in an edition limited to 250 pieces worldwide. This piece is #22 / 250 and comes enclosed in the original deluxe RJW presentation box with the accompanying signed and numbered certificate of authenticity and the forms for owner registration. Previously owned in excellent / new condition.
