This Wee Forest Folk miniature Native American mouse is Chief Mouse-asoit, appropriately named after the real Massasoit, famous for his peaceful relations with the English settlers at the Plymouth Colony. Massasoit and his people, the Wampanoags, played a vital role in the Pilgrims' survival by sharing knowledge of agriculture and other essential skills. Wee Forest Folk's mouse version, Chief Mouse-asoit, is wearing a feather and beads in his headdress, a beautiful red robe, and traditional moccasins. He's gathering food for Thanksgiving dinner, carrying corn on the cob, and standing beside a bucket of clams. A nice addition to your miniature village display, or under a tiny glass cloche on your Thanksgiving Day table. This vintage miniature figurine is in excellent condition and comes in a Wee Forest Folk box for gifting and storage. Sculpted and initialed by Annette Petersen. Approximate dimensions: 2.25" x 2.25".

Every Wee Forest Folk figurine is hand-painted and made in the USA.

Production Dates: 1994 - 1997.

The Petersen Family have been crafting Wee Forest Folk exquisite miniatures since 1972 right here in the USA. A Wee Forest Folk figurine begins as an original clay piece which is hand sculpted by one of three sculptors in the Petersen family. The finished sculpture is molded and hand cast at the "mouse factory" in Carlisle, MA. Carefully selected artists flawlessly paint each one by hand bringing to life a sweet little mouse personality.
