Squirrel Peasant a la Gauguin is the sixth of seven pieces in the Wee Forest Folk Meadow Muses series. This miniature figurine of a squirrel holding a sheaf of wheat was inspired by artist Paul Gauguin's paintings depicting primitive and rural cultures and the simple lives of ordinary peasants. This is a very unique piece with a beautiful, full, squirrel's tail and a textured, wheat-field base. Beautiful in your farmhouse kitchen under a tiny glass cloche, or on your Thanksgiving Day table. Sculpted by Willy Petersen, this piece will be appreciated by lovers of fine art, Gauguin, farm decor, miniatures, and of course, collectors of Wee Forest Folk figurines. Comes in the original Wee Forest Folk Meadow Muses box.
Every Wee Forest Folk figurine is hand-painted and made in the USA.

The Petersen Family have been crafting Wee Forest Folk exquisite miniatures since 1972 right here in the USA. A Wee Forest Folk figurine begins as an original clay piece which is hand sculpted by one of three sculptors in the Petersen family. The finished sculpture is molded and hand cast at the "mouse factory" in Carlisle, MA. Carefully selected artists flawlessly paint each one by hand bringing to life a sweet little mouse personality.
