Frequently Asked Questions
Can you explain the freedom ratings provided within the product detail for each product?
The freedom ratings as shown within the product detail is based on the freedom scale as reported in the 2009 Edition of Freedom in the World, the standard-setting comparative assessment of global political rights and civil liberties published annually by Freedom House.
Freedom in the World provides three broad category designations for each of the countries and territories included in the index: Free, Partly Free, and Not Free.
Free (freedom rating of 1.0 − 2.5) − A free country is one where there is broad scope for open political competition, a climate of respect for civil liberties, significant independent civic life, and independent media.
Partly Free (freedom rating of 3.0 − 5.0) − A partly free country is one in which there is limited respect for political rights and civil liberties. Partly free states frequently suffer from an environment of corruption, weak rule of law, ethnic and religious strife, and often a setting in which a single political party enjoys dominance despite the façade of limited pluralism.
Not Free (freedom rating of 5.5 − 7.0) − A not free country is one where basic political rights are absent, and basic civil liberties are widely and systematically denied.
At Endeavour Toys, we will only offer products made in countries that are free or partly free.
